Vegan egg seasoning
Himalayan black salt is an Indian volcanic rock salt commonly used in Pakistan, India, and other Asian countries. Also known as kala namak, black salt is used as seasoning in vegan recipes such as tofu scramble and chickpea omelette to mimic egg taste. The egg-y smell of black salt is due to the presence of hydrogen sulfide (same compound present in eggs) in black salt.
